Matthew Parish is a partner of Taunton Snyder and Parish. Mr. Parish is a seasoned trial attorney who practices in a wide array of complex litigation.  Because of his background in engineering and environmental law training, Mr. Parish has been at the fore of a number of the largest cases our firm has handled since he joined the firm in 2000.  Mr. Parish’s practice has focused principally on Environmental Law and Toxic Tort, but he has also handled Indemnity and Insurance Law disputes, Products Liability, and Intellectual Property cases.  Mr. Parish is licensed to practice in all Texas Courts, U.S. District Court’s for the Southern, Western, Eastern Districts, and the Fifth and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1995, Mr. Parish attended the top-ranked environmental law school in the country, Vermont Law School. 

While pursuing his legal education, Mr. Parish earned academic honors by making all three of Vermont Law School’s recognized moot court teams.  Also during law school he clerked in the Litigation Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (“TCEQ”).  After earning his J.D. in 1999, he began working as a staff attorney for the TCEQ in the Water/Wastewater Permitting Division.  Through this work, Mr. Parish has gained a significant familiarity with the both state and federal environmental regulations.  Mr. Parish is a member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Section of the State Bar of Texas, and the Environmental Law Section of the Houston Bar Association.

Mr. Parish has been selected by SuperLawyers as a Top Rated General Litigation Attorney in Houston, Texas in 2014 - 2015, and was selected to Rising Stars: 2009 - 2010, 2012 - 2013. He is also rated as an AV Preeminent Lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell.
